What We Do
What differentiates this work is my style and method.
These are the five principles underlying my work:
- Direct contact — Stay with what is actually being experienced, rather than retreating into explanations about it.
- Pattern recognition — Notice how you perceive, relate, choose, avoid, and protect yourself.
- Truthful inquiry — Examine what is actually true, including what is uncomfortable, unwanted, or being avoided.
- Capacity — Develop the ability to remain present with what is seen rather than immediately defending against it.
- Transformation — Let clearer seeing produce different choices, behaviour, and ways of living.
I work with adults who want to understand the core patterns that shape the way they live, relate to others, and make decisions.
My approach is humanistic and based on the direct exploration of experience.
I do not provide diagnoses, treat mental health disorders or work with clinical cases; when a situation requires clinical care, I refer clients to a qualified healthcare professional.
My definitions:
- psychology = the study of why we are as we are
- psychological work = investigating why we are as we are, and optimising it
- coaching = guidance for non-clinical psychological work
This work boils down to discovering the truth of who we are
My coaching IS NOT: endless venting, reaffirming, diagnosing, repeating, theorising, offloading or hiding
My coaching IS: insight, truth, inquiry, honesty, responsibility, self-awareness, pattern discovery, direct contact with experience
What we work on: recurring behaviour patterns, relationships, avoidance, values, decisions, self-concept, habits, meaning, responsibility, emotional awareness, embodied experience, self-understanding
With my help, you are capable of producing deep insight and change
